The Russian House in Cairo, in cooperation with the Caricature Museum in Fayoum, the Egyptian Caricature Society, the Association of Graduates of Russian and Soviet Universities, and the Egypt Cartoon Platform, is organizing a caricature exhibition by the artist Samir Abdel Ghani, entitled “Sesame World,” at six in the evening on Thursday, February 15, in the exhibition hall of the Russian House.
The exhibition will be opened by Murad Gatin, Director of the Russian Cultural Centers in Egypt, and the artist Mustafa Al-Sheikh, President of the Cartoon Society, in the presence of the great cartoonist Mohamed Hakim, the artist Fawzi Morsi, Secretary General of the Caricature Society, Sherif Gad, President of the Alumni Association, and an elite group of artists and those interested in the art of caricature.
The exhibition includes more than 40 caricature works by the artist Samir Abdel Ghani, dealing with many different social topics in a satirical and cheerful manner. A group of portraits of the artist Samir Abdel Ghani drawn by the fingers of 26 artists from Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Iraq will also be displayed, including the artists; George Bahgoury, Ahmed Alawi, Hassan Farouk, Hassan Dawoud, Fathi Ali, Muhammad Abdel Jalil, Adham Lotfy, Maher Daniel, Osama Abu Saba, Khader Hassan, Mahmoud Asaad, Ali Al Samikh, Kamal Jabr, Noura Makram, Hani Abdel Gawad, Ghada Mustafa , Ahmed Al-Dandarawi, Muhammad Fathi, Ahmed Samir Farid, Amin Al-Habara, Marwa Ibrahim, Yasmine Gamal, Shaima Al-Shafi’i, Engy Mahmoud, Rabab Ibrahim, Ali Allawi.
It is worth noting that the artist Samir Abdel Ghani was born in Alexandria in 1967, and graduated from the Faculty of Commerce, Alexandria University. He was published in many Egyptian and Arab magazines and newspapers, including Al-Arabi Al-Nasseri, Rosa Al-Youssef, Al-Ahram Al-Masa’i, Sabah Al-Khair magazine, Aladdin, Qatar Al-Nada magazine, and other magazines. and Arabic publications. He participated in many international festivals and exhibitions, and won many awards in the field of caricature, including the Journalists Syndicate Award as the best professional cartoonist. He became a member of the board of directors of the Egyptian Caricature Society, organized hundreds of caricature exhibitions, and held many workshops and lectures on the art of caricature. He was honored by many Egyptian universities as one of the most influential cartoon artists. He also has many plastic arts experiences in which he participated in many plastic festivals and exhibitions.
