Ahmed Moustafa
While the Iranian people are experiencing the joy of the 45th birthday of the blessed Iranian Revolution in the wake of its Egyptian counterpart, July 52, we monitor testimonies of the era for both Imam Khomeini, the initiator of the Iranian Revolution, the Supreme Leader, Mr. Ali Khamenei, and President Gamal Abdel Nasser, as follows:
* For the leader of the Iranian revolution, Ayatollah Khomeini, he said: President Abdel Nasser is the greatest Arab leader to emerge in our time, and his death is a great loss to the Islamic world and to relations between Egypt and Iran. He was the closest leader to our revolution when we were being chased by the Shah.
* The current Supreme Leader, Mr. Ali Khamenei, said: I was detained in the prisons of the Shah, who had a strong hatred for Abdel Nasser, and one sad day I noticed a state of joy in the prison among the officers and guards, and when I asked about the reason, I learned of the death of the leader Abdel Nasser… and I swear to God Almighty that I cried. For him, just as I did not cry for my mother and father. He was the only leader who helped Imam Khomeini and provided the revolution with money, weapons, and training bases. His departure represented a huge loss to the Arab and Islamic worlds and to the relations between Egypt and Iran. The revolution…
* Likewise, we congratulate you on the anniversary of your revolution and its success, and further success, progress and prosperity for the Iranian government and people. We appreciate your positions towards our Arab and Islamic issues, especially the issue of the century, the Palestinian issue.
I believe that this anniversary will soon witness the return of the inter-relations between the Egyptian and Iranian peoples as the establishing history is the best witness to the era of fraternal relations between the two countries and the friendly meetings between Presidents Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and his brother Ibrahim Raisi.
