Yesterday in Davos, His Excellency the Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Engineer Abdullah bin Amer Al-Sawaha, held several meetings with leaders of major international technology companies to discuss the expansion of their technology projects and innovative solutions in the Kingdom, with the aim of strengthening the Kingdom’s leadership as a center for technology and innovation in the region.
The meetings came as part of the Kingdom’s delegation’s participation in the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum in Switzerland, where His Excellency discussed with Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella the results of his visit to Riyadh and the promotion of investment opportunities in the fields of generative artificial intelligence, cloud computing, stimulating entrepreneurship, and programs for developing national talent capabilities.
The Minister of Communications and Information Technology also discussed with IBM CEO Arvind Krishna, joint projects and progress made in a number of generative artificial intelligence projects, big data and digital capabilities development, and programs to stimulate research and innovation in deep technologies.
His Excellency also met with Amazon CEO Adam Selipski, and discussed the partnership to support the growth of the digital economy in the region and accelerate innovative business models and applications of generative artificial intelligence.
On the other hand; His Excellency Deputy Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Engineer Haitham Al-Ohali, met with Alibaba Group CEO, Jay Michael Evans, and discussed what has been achieved in developing national talent and stimulating investment by strengthening the partnership in cloud computing and e-commerce solutions.
Al-Ohali also met with NAXGRP CEO Jeff Schumacher, with the aim of discussing opportunities to stimulate potentials for digital entrepreneurial companies, and enhance innovation to create promising opportunities in the digital economy.
