The activities of the 37th AC37 America’s Cup Race, which will be held for the first time outside Spain, will begin in Jeddah Governorate next week, during the period from November 29 to December 2, on the Bride of the Red Sea Corniche (Yacht Club).
The British, Italian, French and American teams will compete to face the New Zealand team (the defending cup champion) who won it for the second time in a row, as it aspires to crown itself the champion for the third time in a row in Barcelona in August 2024, after completing the preliminary tournament in the Red Sea.
By hosting such the most prominent event in the water sports sector in the world, the Ministry of Sports, in cooperation with the Saudi Sailing Federation, seeks to introduce young people and children to the types of sailing sports and attract talents who can represent the Kingdom in various local, regional and international competitions and improve the quality of life through practicing sports that have a fundamental impact on Mental and physical health.
It is noteworthy that the tournament activities will begin with the local water activities of the Saudi Sailing Federation on its first day from nine in the morning until eleven in the morning, and then the international racing village will be opened, and visitors to the tournament will be able to watch the official training race from one thirty until three thirty in the evening.
