Today, Sunday, 6/25/2023, the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States (LAS) concluded a memorandum of understanding with the Arab Network for Joint Broadcasting, where Ambassador Hossam Zaki, Assistant Secretary-General and Head of the Office of the Secretary-General, signed the memorandum of understanding on behalf of the General Secretariat, and on behalf of the Arab Network for Joint Broadcasting. His Excellency Dirar Belhoul Al Falasi, Member of the UAE Federal National Council and Executive Director of Watani Al Emarat Foundation. The signing ceremony was witnessed by His Excellency / Abdul Jalil Al Bulooki, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Arab Network for Joint Broadcasting.
Ambassador Hossam Zaki indicated that the conclusion of the memorandum of understanding comes in light of the “Enrichment of Arabic Electronic Content on the Internet” project approved by the Council of Arab Information Ministers as part of the work of the Arab Electronic Media Committee, which includes the “Arabic Archive” initiative, which is one of the initiatives of the Arab Network for Joint Broadcasting. It aims to strengthen Arab cooperation in the fields of documentation and digitization of audiovisual and print media archives to support and enrich Arab media content on the Internet.
Through this joint cooperation, the two sides look forward to accelerating the pace of joint Arab action in the areas of documenting the Arab memory in its various forms and disseminating it on a larger scale, with the aim of raising awareness among the different societal groups in general, and among the youth and children groups in particular, of the common Arab history and the important achievements that the Arab countries have achieved together in different domains.
