The International Air Transport Association (IATA) re-elected His Excellency the Director General of the Saudi Airlines Group, Eng. Ibrahim bin Abdulrahman Al-Omar, as a member of the Board of Governors for a period of three years, and (IATA) chose the Vice President for Safety, Aviation Security and Quality at the Saudi Airlines Company for Air Transport, Captain Muhammad Salim Dahdooli as a member of the Board. The Board of Governors is the highest executive authority in the International Air Transport Association, and is concerned with setting plans and strategies related to the global air transport industry, and executive responsibilities in approving strategic plans, as well as drawing up general policies for the Federation and security, safety and environmental affairs, as well as following up the tasks of the advisory committees emanating from the Council.
The presence of representatives of Saudi Airlines in many advisory boards in the International Air Transport Association indicates the position occupied by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the weight it represents at the international level in all fields, as well as the position occupied by Saudi Airlines among airlines in the world and the effective role it plays in air transport industry system.
