KSA and USA call on the Sudanese to extend ceasefire
Ashraf AboArafe
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) and the United States of America (USA), in their capacity as facilitators of the short-term ceasefire agreement and humanitarian arrangements, called on the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces to continue the discussion to reach an agreement on extending the ceasefire, which will end on May 29, 2023 AD at 9:45 minutes Khartoum time. Since the agreement is not complete, the extension will facilitate the delivery of the humanitarian aid needed by the Sudanese people. In the absence of an agreement to extend the current ceasefire, it remains the duty of both parties to abide by their commitment under the short-term ceasefire and to declare their commitment to the protection of civilians in Sudan.
