The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, may God protect him, presided over the session held by the Council of Ministers today at the Peace Palace in Jeddah.
At the beginning of the session, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques briefed the Council of Ministers on the content of the message he received – may God protect him – from His Majesty the King of the Kingdom of Bahrain, and is related to the relations between the two countries and their two brotherly peoples.
During its meeting, the Council approved a cooperation agreement between the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Government of the Arab Republic of Egypt in the field of combating crime. It also approved a memorandum of understanding between the General Authority for Competition in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Authority for Protection of Competition and Prevention of Monopolistic Practice in the Arab Republic of Egypt in the matter of cooperation in the field of promoting competition. and anti-monopoly practice.
The Council also looked, with appreciation, at the positive results reached at the Arab Summit in its (32nd) session, chaired by the Kingdom, and what resulted from it in the (Jeddah Declaration) in opening a new page to advance the course of joint action and strengthen solidarity in the face of the challenges and difficulties that the Arab world is going through. In a way that contributes to achieving the goals and aspirations towards a promising future for peoples and future generations.
In this context, the Council of Ministers affirmed the Kingdom’s constant keenness to unite the Arab ranks and interest in everything that would provide conditions for stability and prosperity in the region, especially what is related to sustainable development in its various dimensions. Including working during the presidency of the current summit on a number of initiatives aimed at advancing joint cooperation in the cultural, economic, social and environmental fields.
His Excellency the Minister of Information, Mr. Salman bin Youssef Al-Dosari, stated, in his statement after the session, that the Council was briefed on the contents of the meetings of His Royal Highness, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, with Their Majesties and Excellencies, the leaders of a number of Arab countries, as well as his meeting – may God protect him – with His Excellency the President of Ukraine, and what happened. It will review relations and ways to strengthen and develop them.
The Council dealt with a number of reports on developments in the events and their course on the regional and international arenas. Including developments in the situation in Sudan, expressing in this regard that the Kingdom welcomes the signing of the two parties to the conflict to the short-term ceasefire agreement and humanitarian arrangements, and the hope that the talks will focus on a permanent cessation of hostilities and the activation of the political process.
