The Board of Directors of the Universal Postal Union launched the new logo for the Extraordinary Postal Conference 2023, which the Kingdom will host next October for 5 days in the city of Riyadh. It includes representatives of government agencies and those related to the postal sector.
The Kingdom obtained the right to host the Extraordinary Postal Conference 2023 after winning the vote of the member states of the Universal Postal Union (UPU) during the meeting of the General Committee of the Union’s Board of Directors in October of last year 2022. It is expected that this conference will attract representatives of 192 countries around the world to discuss opening the Union to parties actors in the postal sector and proposals in this regard.
The Kingdom’s hosting of the Extraordinary Postal Conference 2023 comes within the framework of its keenness to achieve its ambitious vision 2030, and to inform the world of its influential role at various levels, its goals and initiatives in developing the postal and logistical sector in accordance with the national strategy for transport and logistics services, and it is an opportunity to review its advanced capabilities to host such conferences with high professionalism and organization. Accurate, in addition to conveying a good picture of its rich land, its ancient history, and its hospitable people. The Kingdom’s victory embodies confirmation of its active and present role in international organizations and its contributions to strengthening cooperation among member states to develop postal services and its ambitious initiatives and future projects in accordance with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
The importance of hosting lies in attracting a number of representatives of governments and leaders of the postal sector in the member states of the Universal Postal Union, in addition to United Nations organizations, and the most prominent international and regional bodies to discuss the important role of mail in all fields, and to study proposals for the development and improvement of this sector.
