The Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the Arab Republic of Egypt, Osama bin Ahmed Noqli, received in his office at the embassy today the committee for canceling the visa sticker (work, visit and residence) and replacing them with electronic visas in Egypt, and representatives of the Ministries of Interior, Human Resources and Social Development, the Saudi Authority for Data and Artificial Intelligence, and the National Authority for Security Cyber and the General Authority of Civil Aviation.
The meeting reviewed the existing efforts and facilities provided by the Kingdom through the shift to electronic transactions, including visa services as a new initiative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as the electronic visa was launched in its first phase in a number of the Kingdom’s missions, including the Kingdom’s mission to Egypt.
The initiative includes facilitating the issuance of visas electronically and reading its data via a quick response (QR) code instead of the traditional visa sticker on the beneficiary’s passport.
