Agencies.. Alert sirens sounded in the settlements of Sderot, Ibim, Nir Am and Meflasim, northeast of the border with Gaza.
The Israeli military spokesman had said that successive bursts of rockets were fired from the Gaza Strip towards the Israeli settlements bordering the Strip.
The Palestinian rocket fire came in response to a series of raids launched by the Israeli warplanes on separate areas of the Gaza Strip, in which one person was killed and another seriously wounded.
And the Israeli Army Radio announced that it had intercepted 9 rockets fired from Gaza towards the Sderot settlement.
