In a statement, the members of the UN Security Council welcomed the recent visit of two delegations from the Sultanate of Oman and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Yemeni capital, Sana’a.
The members of the Council also welcomed the continued support of the Sultanate of Oman and Saudi Arabia for the mediation efforts of the United Nations, and that these talks represent valuable steps towards reaching a comprehensive ceasefire and inclusive Yemeni-Yemeni political talks under the auspices of the United Nations Special Envoy for Yemen, based on the agreed terms of reference. And in accordance with the relevant Security Council resolutions. The members of the Council called on the Yemeni parties to continue dialogue and engage constructively in the peace process and negotiate in good faith, stressing in their statement their continued support for reaching a political settlement and ending the suffering of the Yemeni people.
