The General Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques (THM), represented by the General Department of Cultural Affairs and Women’s Activities and Events at the Agency for Libraries and Cultural Affairs, launched (5) initiatives for the pioneers of the Grand Mosque in Mecca, which includes many cultural programs during the blessed month of Ramadan inside and outside the library.
Omaima bin Abdul Rahman Al-Sudais, Director General of the Department of Cultural Affairs, Women’s Activities and Events, explained that the programs come at the forefront of the Ramadan Breeze Forum, which includes four lectures to talk about the merits of the month of Ramadan and its good reception, followed by two enriching meetings on the nights of Ramadan moderation (intellectual and devotional moderation), and following This is the establishment of the Crescent Crescent initiative, which includes a variety of interactive programs with the public in attendance, which will be held in the men’s section of the Grand Mosque in Makkah Al-Sharif Library, and several programs are included under it, namely (a verse and interpretation, an event in Ramadan, a session with a book, how to prepare a Ramadan dish, and at the breakfast table).
Al-Sudais explained that presenting such programs stems from the reality of responsibility in spreading cultural awareness and community participation, considering the library and books as a source of culture, knowledge and enrichment of creativity.
