A minister and a state minister who went to inaugurate a cultural centre at Bamunakotuwa in Kurunegala were booed by a group of residents in the area today.
According to Dsily mirror, It was reported that the residents protested Minister Vidura Wickramanayake and State Minister D.B. Herath who attended the event to declare open the cultural centre.
However, despite the opposition, the ministers attended the event.
Local residents claimed that this cultural centre has been opened by several ministers on several occasions.
A large number of policemen were deployed at the location to beef up security.
