SPA – His Excellency the Minister of State, Member of the Council of Ministers, National Security Adviser, Dr. Musaed bin Muhammad Al-Aiban, affirmed that the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Prince Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister – may God protect them – welcomed the initiative. The generous response to His Excellency President Xi Jinping, President of the People’s Republic of China, for the development of good-neighborly relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) and the Islamic Republic of Iran, stems from the Kingdom’s firm and continuous approach since its establishment in adhering to the principles of good neighborliness and taking everything that would enhance security and stability in the region and the world, and adopting the principle of Dialogue and diplomacy to resolve differences.
This came in a speech delivered by His Excellency during the closing session of the talks that preceded the signing of the agreement to resume diplomatic relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Islamic Republic of Iran, hosted and sponsored by the People’s Republic of China, in the presence of a high-ranking Chinese, as follows:

At the outset, I am pleased to convey the thanks and appreciation of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister – may God protect them – to His Excellency President Xi Jinping for the generous initiative of His Excellency in supporting the Republic of China Popularity to develop good-neighborly relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Islamic Republic of Iran, and for China to be a bridge for dialogue between them.
It also gives me great pleasure to congratulate the People’s Republic of China on the re-election of His Excellency President Xi Jinping as President of the Republic and Chairman of the Central Military Commission.
Your Excellencies:
The Kingdom’s leadership welcomes the initiative of His Excellency President Xi Jinping, based on the Kingdom’s consistent and continuous approach since its establishment in adhering to the principles of good neighborliness, taking everything that would enhance security and stability in the region and the world, and adopting the principle of dialogue and diplomacy to resolve differences.
As we express our thanks and appreciation to the Republic of Iraq and the Sultanate of Oman for the facilities provided by the two brotherly countries to the previous rounds of dialogue, it is with great pleasure that we reached this agreement today, which comes as a culmination of the in-depth discussions that we had during this week, which were supported by the leaders of our three countries, during which they reviewed It elaborated extensively on the causes of differences and ways to address them, as the Kingdom was keen to have this within the framework of the fraternal ties that bring the two countries together, and to open a new page based on commitment to the principles and purposes of the Charters of the United Nations and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and international conventions and norms.
In addition, the emphasis reached on the principles of respect for the sovereignty of states and non-interference in their affairs is a fundamental pillar for the development of relations between states and the promotion of security and stability in our region, for the good and benefit of both countries and the region in general, and in a way that enhances regional and international peace and security.
While we value what we have reached, we hope that we will continue to continue the constructive dialogue, in accordance with the pillars and foundations included in the agreement, expressing our appreciation and appreciation for the People’s Republic of China’s continued positive role in this regard.
In conclusion, I would like to extend my sincere thanks to His Excellency Mr. Ali Shamkhani for the efforts made by him and the members of the brotherly Iranian delegation to reach this agreement.
