The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology, participated via video conference in the first meeting of the Executive Committee for Cybersecurity in the Gulf Cooperation Council states.
During the meeting, the structure, tasks and terms of reference of the Ministerial Committee for Cybersecurity and its affiliated committees were discussed, updating the guiding strategy for cybersecurity and safety, in addition to discussing the guiding framework for the privacy of personal data in the GCC states. A number of Gulf initiatives related to the cybersecurity industry were also discussed. The delegation of the Sultanate of Oman at the meeting was headed by Dr. Ali bin Amer Al-Shaithani, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology for Communications and Information Technology.
The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Ministry of Justice and Legal Affairs, also participated in the International Justice Conference (We Facilitate Access to Justice with Digital Technologies), which was organized by the Ministry of Justice in the city of Riyadh, with an official delegation headed by Dr. First Ibrahim bin Saeed Al Hosani – Director General of the General Directorate of Justice Affairs, and Issa bin Salem Al Barashdi – Director of the International Cooperation Department.
The conference discussed and discussed a number of issues related to the future of judicial technologies, particularly related to technology that supports and enhances judicial practice, in line with the latest global experiences and digital transformations. The prospects for investing in artificial intelligence technologies in developing judicial work, international expertise and agreements were also discussed during the conference. Model for judicial cooperation, implementation of foreign judgments and arbitration within the framework of judicial cooperation agreements and international law, as well as harmonizing domestic legislation with judicial cooperation agreements and facilitating their procedures. A group of jurists from more than 30 countries around the world participated in the conference.
