The King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity “Mawhiba” issued a report on the prizes achieved by the Kingdom’s students in the international and regional Olympiads for the year 2022, and their participation in the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair “ISEF 2022”, where the Kingdom won 94 international scientific awards; Including 72 medals represented in competitions and olympiads, and 22 international awards for the participation of the Saudi team in the “ISEF 2022” exhibition.
He explained that the international and regional Olympiads and prizes are annual high-level global competitions, and among the strongest scientific competitions for general education students and include several disciplines, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia participates in the most prominent of them; They are mathematics, physics, chemistry, informatics, biology and science.
The report indicated that the competitions are held mostly during the summer vacation, hosted by one of the participating countries, with more than 100 countries participating in them, many of which have been held for more than 50 years.
In 2020, the number of the Kingdom’s participation in competitions and Olympiads reached about 13, and the total number of awards and medals reached 57 medals, while the number of participations in 2021 reached about 14, and the total number of awards and medals this year reached about 56 medals, while the number of the Kingdom’s participation increased in 2020. 2022 to about 18 participants, and the number of awards and medals reached about 72; Among them are 8 gold awards, 22 silver awards, 25 bronze awards, and 17 certificates of appreciation.
The report dealt with the Kingdom’s participation in 2022 in several competitions and Olympiads, amounting to 18 international and regional participation, represented in the Asia-Pacific Olympiad, the Gulf Mathematical Olympiad, the Gulf Physics Olympiad, the European Girls’ Mathematics Olympiad, the North Baltic Physics Olympiad, the Balkan Mathematics Olympiad, the Mendeleev Chemistry Olympiad, and the Olympiad. The European Physics Olympiad, the Asian Informatics Olympiad, the Asian Physics Olympiad, the Balkan Junior Mathematics Olympiad, the International Mathematics Olympiad, the International Chemistry Olympiad, the International Biology Olympiad, the International Physics Olympiad, the International Informatics Olympiad, the European Girls Olympiad in Informatics, and the International Junior Science Olympiad.
