Embassy of Saudi Arabia organizes an awareness march to protect wild cats from extinction

The Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Cairo organized this morning an awareness march to protect endangered wild cats and support the Arabian leopard, under the title “Catwalk 2022”, which was hosted by the Gezira Youth Center in Zamalek, to celebrate the launch of the Kingdom’s initiative for the second campaign of the global “Catmosphere” organization.

The volunteer march started at 10 am at the Al-Jazeera Youth Center track, for a distance of 7 kilometers, led by the Saudi Consul in Cairo, Dr. Sultan bin Farraj Al-Subaie, on behalf of the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Osama bin Ahmed Naqli, and the Egyptian Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr. Ahmed Gomaa, and in the presence of the heads of departments and embassy staff.

The initiative is one of the campaigns of the global “Catmosphere” organization, which is concerned with protecting 40 species of wild cats at risk of extinction, supporting the Arab leopard and tiger rarities and preserving them in their natural environment, achieving the goals of rehabilitating the ecosystems in the region, in addition to enhancing the physical fitness of community members.
