With participation of KSA, the 8th summit of parliaments heads of the twenty countries discusses the empowerment of women

The Eighth Summit of Speakers of Parliaments of the Group of Twenty countries continued in the Indonesian capital, Jakarta, with the participation of the delegation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia headed by His Excellency the Speaker of the Shura Council Sheikh Dr. Parliaments participating in the summit.
The sessions of the second day – which was held today at the headquarters of the Indonesian Parliament -) discussed a number of topics included in the work of the summit, namely social integration and women’s empowerment, and the roles that parliaments play in this regard.
The sessions included many interventions from the delegations participating in the summit of the heads of parliaments of the G20 countries, during which they stressed the importance of the roles played by parliaments in an effort to support the efforts of countries to confront all the crises and challenges the world is going through to achieve the hopes and aspirations of the peoples.
On the sidelines of the eighth summit of the heads of parliaments of the G20 countries, the delegation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, headed by the Speaker of the Shura Council, participated in the work of the parliamentary forum held in the context of the summit in the capital, Jakarta.
The Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia, Puan Maharani, inaugurated the forum in the presence of a number of officials in the Republic of Indonesia, and the delegations participating in the Eighth Summit of Speakers of Parliaments of the Group of Twenty, stressing during her opening the forum the importance of comprehensive cooperation between parliaments of all countries of the world, to build a better future and achieve recovery after the pandemic. Corona, and strengthening the efforts of the parliaments of the Group of Twenty countries to enhance communication between the countries of the group and cooperation between them.
The forum discussed many topics, including the roles that parliaments play. The forum also reviewed a number of topics related to the environment and its preservation, carbon emissions and the use of renewable energy.
The Shura Council delegation, headed by His Excellency the Speaker of the Shura Council, included members of the Council, Major General Mansour bin Sultan Al-Turki, Dr. Amal bint Yahya Al-Sheikh, Dr. Osama bin Hassan Aref, Dr. Amira bint Ahmed Al-Balawi, and a number of officials in the Council.
