The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has provided financial support in the amount of one million US dollars to the Office of the United Nations Office for the Alliance of Civilizations.
Ambassador Abd al-Aziz bin Muhammad al-Wasil, the Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the United Nations, at the headquarters of the Office of the United Nations for the Alliance of Civilizations, was greeted in the sum of money by the representative of the United Nations for the Alliance of Civilizations, Miguel Angel Moratinos.
He emphasized the Kingdom’s appreciation for the important role played by the Office of the Alliance of Civilizations, its efforts in spreading the culture of peace and tolerance, and promoting the multilateral diplomacy, at a time when the world is in dire need of establishing values of coexistence and building bold communication and spreading peace.
For his part, the Supreme Representative of the Alliance of Civilizations emphasized the great role played by the Kingdom in promoting peace and the values of coexistence and the rejection of hatred and violence, especially as the Kingdom is witnessing a comprehensive renaissance and major social and cultural changes, noting the central role of the Kingdom in promoting the values of peace and tolerance. And respect for all religions and cultures.
This support provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia today to the Alliance of Civilizations is the third installment of the amount of 3 million dollars that the Kingdom pledged to support the action plan, activities and programs of the United Nations Office for the Alliance of Civilizations.
