The German-Arab Chamber of Industry and Commerce (AHK) in Cairo celebrates its 70th anniversary. Frank Hartmann, German Ambassador to Cairo, will participate this evening in the celebrations marking the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the German-Arab Chamber of Industry and Commerce, in the courtyard of the “Egyptian Museum of National Civilization”. The German-Arab Chamber of Industry and Commerce was established in Cairo in 1951 as the first German Chamber of Commerce outside Germany in the Arab world, and today it plays a pivotal role in strengthening German-Egyptian economic relations thanks to the efforts of its members, who today number more than 2,500 members. The German-Arab Chamber of Industry and Commerce is not only a forum for building relationships and providing advice to German companies seeking to establish economic relations with the Arab world, but is also part of a global network of German foreign chambers of commerce and industry spread around the world. As institutions for the promotion of the German economy abroad, they are supported by the Federal Ministry for Economics and Energy.
