President El-Sisi Meets Scatec CEO
Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi meet with the CEO of Scatec,Terje Pilskog, in the presence of Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy Dr. Mohammed Shaker, Norway’s Ambassador to Egypt Hilde Klemetsdal and the regional General Manager for the Middle East and North Africa at Scatec Mohammed Amer.
The Spokesman for the Presidency stated that the meeting discussed cooperation with the Norwegian company in new and renewable energy projects and the establishment of a project to produce electrical energy with the amount of 3 gigawatts of wind energy, within the framework of the national strategy to generate clean energy.
The President stressed Egypt’s interest in cooperating with the Norwegian side due to the vast experience it enjoys in the field of new and renewable energy, also in light of the presence of both the political and executive will. The green energy sector enjoys unprecedented support from the state being one of its top priorities and to make the most of Egypt’s wealth from renewable energy sources from the wind and sun.
The CEO of Scatec expressed his honor to meet with President El-Sisi and emphasised the company’s great interest to cooperate with Egypt in the field of clean energy. This is of particular significance as Egypt prepares to host the World Climate Summit in November. This is also in addition to Egypt’s wealth of renewable energy sources from the wind and sun, which qualifies it to be one of the largest producers of renewable energy in the world, thus enhancing promising investment opportunities in this field.
