As the end of the blessed month of Ramadan flashes and the consolidation of the humanity of international initiatives.. The official spokesman for the coalition forces, “Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen,” Brigadier General Turki Al-Maliki, stated that the Joint Forces Command of the coalition will release (163) one hundred and sixty-three Houthi prisoners who participated in the combat operations Against the Kingdom’s lands, as a humanitarian initiative as an extension of the previous humanitarian initiatives, and in support of all efforts and endeavors to end the Yemeni crisis and establish peace and the efforts of the United Nations to consolidate the current truce and create an atmosphere for dialogue between the Yemeni parties, as well as to facilitate the end of the file of prisoners, detainees and martyrs in line with Islamic values, humanitarian principles and authentic Arab traditions The provisions of international humanitarian law represented in the texts and provisions of the Third Geneva Convention, whose implementation has been suspended since the year 2018 AD (Stockholm Agreement).
Brigadier Al-Maliki added that the leadership of the joint forces of the coalition has begun to finalize the procedures for releasing the 163 prisoners, in coordination with the International Committee of the Red Cross, to be transferred to the capital of the Republic of Yemen (Sana’a).
Brigadier General Al-Maliki concluded his statement by emphasizing that the file of ending the exchange of prisoners and martyrs is of interest to the political and military leadership, which always emphasizes dealing with this file from purely humanitarian grounds, away from calculations or political and military gains.
