German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock will pay her first visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt from 11 to 12 February 2022.
During her visit, Minister Baerbock intends to meet Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry as well as other members of the Egyptian government. She plans to discuss Egyptian-German relations and important regional issues that involve Egypt and Germany. She will also explore areas of cooperation in connection with the upcoming 27th Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention on Climate Change (COP 27), to be hosted by Egypt.
Ambassador Frank Hartmann commented: “I am pleased with such an early visit by the new Foreign Minister, which signals our keen interest in continuing the high-level dialogue with Egypt on all regional and bilateral matters, as well as on world-wide cooperation in climate protection.”
