Dr. Ohoud Saeed Al-Ghamdi, Acting Chief of Operation of Jubail Health Network, praised the event on its International Day of Physiotherapy, expressing her thanks to all the staff responsible for the event for their outstanding efforts in providing medical care to all patients.
For her part, Sujood Al-Thunayan, physiotherapy technician, and Haneen Najmi presented a corner on the importance and role of physiotherapy in home health care, by providing physiotherapy services to patients in their homes, who suffer from diseases that prevent them from reaching the hospital, such as elderly patients, stroke patients, and children. For people with special needs, and patients with head and spinal cord injuries, Professor Sujoud Al-Thunayan stressed the need to teach them the most important exercises necessary for the case and their families, and review them at each visit, in addition to using some tools if necessary such as an electric vibration device, warm and cold compresses, and the use of weights.
Al-Thunayan pointed out that the home health care service includes several services, including preventive, curative, rehabilitative, and psychosocial support through a trained medical team on the basics of home health care, teaching them to perform routine daily functions and self-reliance such as going up and down stairs, using crutches when needed, and others Tools, and turning over the bed to avoid bed sores every two hours.
In turn, Najla Al-Buainain, an occupational therapist, said that health promotion programs in the workplace aim to cooperate with all workers from the same facility for continuous improvement, preservation and promotion of everyone’s health, safety, recovery and sustainability of the workplace. It is directed to the need to take into account all their needs and identify them, most notably safety in the natural work environment, health Safety and well-being in the psychological and social environment, including work organization and culture, in personal health resources in the workplace.
The pillars participating in the International Day of Physiotherapy and Home Medicine included educational awareness about the program and its objectives for the hospital staff, and a corner for introducing posture and neck pain, presented by the physiotherapist Zainab Al-Awa and the physiotherapist Amina Al Mazeedi.
