The Egyptian-Russian Friendship Association, headed by Dr. Ibrahim Kamel, in cooperation with the Russian Cultural Center in Cairo, organized an art workshop dedicated to making Mother’s Day gifts under the supervision of artist Ahmed Ghoiba. Children from Egypt and Russia participated in the workshop, where each child was able to create a gift for their mother.

Sherif Gad, Secretary-General of the Egyptian-Russian Friendship Association, noted that organizing the workshops with the participation of Russian and Egyptian children provided an opportunity for friendships between the children. Gad emphasized that the Friendship Association is keen to increase cultural activities with the Russian community in Egypt and its members, which helps strengthen communication between the two cultures and peoples.

Artist Ahmed Ghoiba highlighted the importance of the joint workshops, as well as the children’s joy at being able to make gifts themselves.

One mother commented, “My son’s gift to me increases in value and importance when he makes it himself, and I value it more than the gifts he buys me.”

Arseny Matyushenko, Acting Director of the Russian Cultural Centers in Egypt, welcomed the organization of joint activities with the Friendship Association, which have recently become numerous and diverse and contribute to supporting and strengthening cultural relations between the two countries. Matyushenko stressed that the Russian House in Cairo remains open to building bridges of communication with civil society institutions in Egypt.
