The Senate Majority Leader made the hilarious gaffe while announcing that the House’s article of impeachment will be sent to the Senate on Monday.
Schumer wanted to impress on lawmakers that the former president was responsible for inciting the MAGA mob that stormed the US Capitol on January 6.
But he stumbled over his words muddling ‘insurrection’ for ‘erection’.
‘When that trial ends senators will have to decide if they believe Donald John – Donald John Trump incited the erection – insurrection – against the US,’ he said
Schumer quickly corrected himself and appeared to pull a bashful face before he and his fellow lawmakers pretended nothing had happened.
