The first football team of Al-Ahly club achieved a big victory over its Moroccan guest Wydad, 3-1 in the match that brought the two teams together Friday evening at Cairo Stadium, in the second leg of the semi-finals of the African Champions League.
Marawan Mohsen managed to score the first goal by the fourth minute of the match, after he received a through pass from Amr Al-Sulayyah, and puts the ball in the net.
In the 26th minute, Al-Shahat received a magic pass from Aliou Diang, to deflect the defense and hit it in the goal, boosting Al-Ahly’s lead with the second goal, to end the first half with a score of 2-0.
In the second half, Al-Ahly tightened their control completely over the course of the game, and in the 59th minute, Yasser Ibrahim scored the third goal with a wonderful header.
Wydad made several changes in a final attempt to adjust the score, until substitute Zuhair Al-Murtraji took advantage of Ahmed Al-Sheikh’s mistake and scored a goal for Wydad in the 82nd minute with a missile shot, to end the match with Al-Ahly winning 3-1.
With this result, Al-Ahly qualified for the final match of the CAF Champions League by beating Wydad 5-1 in the aggregate of the two semi-final matches, and the finalist is expected from the other semi-final sides between Zamalek and Moroccan Raja.
