“These baseless allegations come from the perspective of countries that have made the strategic mistake of establishing ties with the Zionist regime and are now trying in their vain illusion to divert attention from the [main] source of threat,” Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh said.
“Bringing the occupying regime to the region, suppression of the peaceful demonstrations of the Bahraini people, full support for ISIL terrorists in Iraq and Syria and continuation of the brutal war against the oppressed Yemeni people by the bankrupts of the Saudi coalition are among the tense actions in the region,” he added.
“As for the three islands of Abu Musa, the Greater Tunb and the Lesser Tunb, Iran’s moves are within the framework of exercising the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and obviously interference of others in this field is doomed,” Khatibzadeh noted.
He described Iran’s military capability as indigenous, emphasizing that it has never been a threat to neighboring states.
The spokesman advised certain regional countries not to turn themselves into US and others’ depots of weapons and not to buy imported security instead of relying on national power.
“Countries that have closed their eyes to the US and Israeli plots and betrayed the cause of the liberation of Holy Quds by disclosing their relations with the Zionist regime have no right to question Iran’s honorable support for the resistance in Palestine and Lebanon,” he said.
The Arab League has a notorious record of hollow allegations against Iran. The body has failed to prove even a single charge against Iran while turning a blind eye to myriads of crimes of some of its members against Arab nations and betrayals of Arab people by certain members.
For instance, it has kept silent toward the Saudi war against the defenseless Yemeni people which has claimed the lives of scores of thousands of innocent people and devastated the infrastructures turning the already poor country to the stone age.
