His Excellency the Secretary-General of the League of the Islamic World Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Abdul Karim Al-Issa explained that the phenomenon of “trafficking in human beings” has become a serious threat to humanity, and a constant slave to human societies, after it became an organized crime in today’s world; And what it represents in terms of unfair exploitation and flagrant violation of human dignity, rights and fundamental freedoms, in an era when human civilization has reached the climax of its progress and prosperity.
And His Excellency indicated that the most urgent thing that a person has in every age is to ensure his dignity, and to achieve for him a decent way of life, whose values are its basic base, including preserving legitimate rights and freedoms, and achieving peace and harmony among the members of the same human family, but unfortunately – with The tremendous scientific progress and rapid technological development – the modern man still suffers from economic pressures that amounted to the commodification of human beings and their consumption without regard for values and morals, so that the world today is surprised by the emergence of slavery and servitude in its new form, which is (the phenomenon of human trafficking), and is in fact an unfair exploitation of the human being And his force majeure, a flagrant violation of his legitimate rights, and his transformation into cheap goods by brutal gangs that push their victims into oppression and slavery, and the unknown world.
His Excellency clarified that the phenomenon of human trafficking has become today an international crime that crosses national borders, and represents a new type of contemporary slavery that humanity has known, because it constitutes a clear violation of human dignity and human dignity, what led the United Nations to consider it the most serious crime that threatens the contemporary world after the drug and arms trade , And devoted to it a separate day within its international days, which falls (July 1 of each year); To fight it, raise awareness of its dangers and warn against falling into its traps.
