Opening the 16th session of the Gulf Radio and Television Festival, Khalid bin Hamad honors the winners of the “Dana Drama Award”

Under the patronage and presence of Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the General Sports Authority and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, the ceremony for handing over the “Dana Drama Award” and opening the sixteenth session of the Gulf Radio and Television Festival was held at the Bahrain National Theater, in the presence of Dr. Ramzan. Bin Abdullah Al Nuaimi, Minister of Information, and the Arab Ministers of Information present in the Kingdom of Bahrain to participate in the work of the 54th session of the Council of Arab Information Ministers, Jassim Mohammed Al Budawi, Secretary General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, Majri bin Mubarak Al Qahtani, Director General of Gulf Radio and Television, and an elite group of guests. The festival includes Gulf and Arab artists and media figures.

On this occasion, Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa congratulated the works and artists who won the “Al Dana Drama Award” in its first edition, expressing his appreciation for their distinguished path of giving, and their influential role in enriching the conscience of Gulf and Arab societies through their creative works.

He said that the arts are the mirror of the people, and the Kingdom of Bahrain has given wide attention to the arts sector, due to its importance in highlighting the authentic Bahraini identity, consolidating the value system in society, and its impact in supporting the process of sustainable development that the Kingdom is witnessing in all sectors.

He praised the large turnout from artists and production bodies for the Al Dana Drama Award, which reached more than 70 dramatic works, which constitutes a major success factor for it, an impetus for its continuity and development, and consolidates the status and value of the award on the map of regional and international artistic awards.

He stressed the importance of the role and message of fine art in building awareness and enhancing the values of belonging and loyalty to the homeland, by being keen to present messages of enlightenment, which would motivate young people to contribute to building their homeland, and deepen their connection to their identity and their pride in it.

Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa noted the importance of festivals and awards in appreciating the efforts of pioneering and young artists, celebrating them and motivating them to continue creativity, in addition to the opportunity they represent to exchange expertise and experiences that advance Gulf and Arab artistic cooperation and its outcomes, to be more monitoring and expressive of the development witnessed by the countries of the region. And develop.

He praised the efforts of the Ministry of Information and the Gulf Radio and Television Corporation in arranging and preparing for the “Dana Drama Award”, to produce an image that befits the leading position of Gulf and Arab art, and the efforts made by the jury in sorting and evaluating the award-winning works.

He expressed his sincere wishes for the success of the Gulf Radio and Television Festival in its sixteenth session, and that the festival’s work will continue with what it represents as a pioneering Gulf artistic gathering, and based on what it has accomplished in developing the Gulf radio and television art, wishing everyone continued success and success.

The Al Dana Drama Award ceremony began with a speech by Dr. Ramzan bin Abdullah Al Nuaimi, Minister of Information. After that, a documentary film was shown about the history of the Gulf Radio and Television Festival, its successive sessions, its role in promoting Gulf art, the various participations and works included in the current session, and the value of the “Dana Drama Award” in its first edition in supporting Gulf art and artists. The film also included a speech by Mr. Majri bin Mubarak Al-Qahtani, Director General of Gulf Radio and Television.

Then, a singing operetta was performed entitled “Al-Dana”, which included a number of paintings that express the art of each GCC country, its culture and its songs that occupy a place in the national memory, through an attractive and sophisticated musical and lyrical show that combines old and new art.

The operetta also included a message sent by a number of Gulf artists to new generations stressing the importance of insisting on success and proving oneself, in addition to that it included a section showing pictures of elite pioneers and major stars of Gulf art.

Then, the sponsor of the ceremony, His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the General Sports Authority and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, honored the winners of the “Dana Drama Award” in its ten categories, who are:

– Award (Best Arabic Series), won by the series “The Assassins”.

– Award (Best Social Series), won by the series “Threads of Mazaib”.

Award (Best Comedy Series), won by the series “Sikka Safar 3”.

The (Best Actor) award was won by the artist Abdul Mohsen Al-Nimr for his role in the series (Threads of Mazaib).

The (Best Actress) award was received by the artist Shajoun Al-Hajri for her role in the series (Washing).

The Best Actor Award for a Rising Face was awarded to the artist Nayef Al-Bahr for his role in the series (Al-Naseem High School).

The award for Best Actress, Rising Face, was received by the artist Reem Hamdan for her role in the series (Tawq Al-Harir).

The award for “Best Dramatic Text” was won by writer Hanaa Abdullah Al-Omair for the series “Threads of Mazaib.”

The (Best Director) award was won by directors Abdulaziz Al-Shalahi and Manaf Abdul for the series (Threads of Mazaib).

The (Best Soundtrack) award was won by the artist Salim Arjoun for the series (Album).

Meanwhile, the series “Sondos 2” won the audience vote award announced by the festival’s organizing committee for the best Gulf drama series nominated for the “Dana Drama Award.”

The ceremony also witnessed the honoring of the great artist Saad Al-Faraj with the Al-Dana Appreciation Award, in recognition of his long history of giving and creativity and his influential fingerprints on the path of Gulf art.

On the sidelines of the “Dana Drama Award”, His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the General Sports Authority and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, met with a number of stars of Arab art, namely the great artist Ahmed Badir, the artist Ahmed Zahir, and the artist Rogina, where he praised His Highness With their artistic career through their works that are admired and followed throughout the Arab world, His Highness wished them more success and brilliance.

His Highness also met with Mr. Tariq Al-Ibrahim, director of mbc1 channel, and discussed with him a number of topics of common interest.
