09 June – First Secretary of State Dominic Raab welcomed Egyptian efforts to support an inclusive solution in Libya under the auspices of the United Nations, in a Monday phone call with his Egyptian counterpart Minister Sameh Shoukry.
The two ministers also agreed on the importance of enhancing coordination on other regional issues, including the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam.
They also discussed means for both countries to continue working together to tackle the global coronavirus pandemic. Foreign Secretary Raab thanked Minister Shoukry for President Abdel Fattah ElSisi’s contribution to the UK-hosted Global Vaccine Summit on 4 June, in which he emphasised the importance of international solidarity to combat the spread of disease.
