The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia continued its global humanitarian leadership by placing its mark this time in French hospitals, through the participation of more than 280 Saudi doctors from scholarship programs supported by the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, along with their French colleagues, to combat spread of the emerging Corona virus.
The Cultural Attaché at the Embassy of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques in France and Switzerland, Dr. Abdullah bin Fahd Al-Thunayan stressed that this human scene is not strange for the sons and daughters of the Kingdom, and said: “This initiative will be decisive in developing their professional lives, and raising their readiness to work effectively with dedication to face crises of all kinds besides training them. In more than 36 specializations in the fields of medicine, including emergency medicine and epidemics.
Al-Thunayan praised the position of the Saudi doctors that reflect the most magnificent images of solidarity at this difficult time regarding spread of the dangerous virus, pointing out that this initiative is not individual or elitist among the the Kingdom’s doctors, but rather reflects the values, ethics and principles of the Saudi Arab Islamic society that confirm that these blessed countries are the kingdom of humanity .
He drew attention to the fact that the 280 Saudi doctors are highly qualified, and have capabilities that enable them to overcome obstacles and crises in view of their efficiency and ability to work hard and continuously for the protection of human beings, noting that there are approximately 20 Saudi doctors working in the Swiss Confederation, In addition to the Saudi doctors who also work in the United States of America, Britain and Germany, all of them are working hard and sincerely to combat the Corona virus epidemic that swept the world.
Dr. Abdullah Al-Thunayan pointed out that the Attaché is in constant contact with doctors to check on them, noting that there are meetings held between the Attaché and the French parties concerned with the joint program for medical studies between the French Ministries of Health and Education, and with the Saudi-French Follow-up Committee to discuss their conditions and ways to support them and provide protection, stressing that the Attaché makes every effort to follow up on Saudi students studying in France continuously, and has opened direct lines of communication, and formed a 24-hour crisis cell to support and help them, whether at the level of study or living or ways of prevention And protection from the virus, noting that there is a daily and continuous follow-up to see the conditions of Saudi students and follow their studies.
For his part, Hani bin Talal Al-Juhani, a neurosurgeon involved in the French city of Collimar Hospital, affirmed that the Saudi doctor is in addition to any health facility that places his foot in it, and that the Saudi doctors, as they are known about, are always in the front rows, praising the constant communication of the attaché and their attachment since the beginning of the crisis.
In a similar statement to WAS, he stated that the Saudi medical team has become emergency operations, whether bleeding, brain tumors or fractures of the vertebrae, for those infected with the covid-19 virus, after stopping all programmed operations due to the outbreak of the Corona virus in the Grand East region to which the city of Colimar belongs.
He continued, saying: “On the basis of Islamic teachings, culture and upbringing of the Saudi people, we preferred to stay and not leave places empty and we have become an integral part of the pillars of the health system in France, and we are here as Saudis to leave a fingerprint and a fragrant biography on this generous people and its rational government.” Emphasizing that The echoes are so great for this human participation that it yielded much appreciation and respect.
In turn, the scholarship to study the French Board and Reproductive Medicine at the University Hospital of Clermont-Ferrand, Doctor Firas Samir Sindi, explained that the Saudi doctor works with the same shifts and privileges of the French doctor, and that they are in the first row to serve and examine patients, and the Saudi doctor has great experience.
Samir said, “It is the duty of the doctor and good medical ethics and professional principles to treat patients, and this is part of the teachings of our true Islamic religion, and part of giving back in these difficult circumstances being the medical ambassadors of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in France.”
He added: “Our standing with the French patient reflects the power of human cohesion in this special circumstance, the French patients and the medical staff are surprised by our presence with them in these difficult days and our failure to return to the Kingdom. In these circumstances, the extent of humanity and responsibility enjoyed by the Saudi doctor in France and all other countries The world, yes, we are the sons of the Kingdom, the pioneer of humanitarian action.
Samir indicated that the role he plays is dealing with patients, starting with dealing with patients ’sick history and vital signs of high temperature, clinically examining patients and taking the necessary smears, ending with performing laboratory analyzes with the help of the medical staff, taking all necessary precautions according to scientific principles, and placing the suspected patients Private rooms for the safety of all.
Faris Samir noted the health measures taken by the rational government in the Kingdom to combat spread of Corona virus, pointing out that many medical personnel in France are following these measures, as the Kingdom is a pioneer in infection control because of its experiences with pilgrims in the Sacred House of God and crowd medicine.
