President Abdel Fattah El Sisi delegated on Monday9/3/2020 Defense Minister Mohamed Zaki to lay down a wreath of flowers for unknown soldier memorial in Cairo’s Nasr City. This falls within the framework of celebrations of the Veteran Warrior and Martyr Day.
This coincides with the martyrdom of former Armed Forces chief of staff Abdel Moneim Riyad on March 9, 1969. This celebration is meant to embrace the sacrifices and heroism of Egyptian martyrs who defended their nation.
Farid accompanied by a number of Armed Forces top brass – laid down the wreath of flowers at the unknown soldier memorial.
Meanwhile, Zaki delegated field army commanders to lay wreaths of flowers at the Unknown Soldier memorials in various governorates.
