The General Secretariat of the League of Arab States (International Political Affairs Sector – Europe and Arab- European Cooperation Department) organized an institutional training on “The Functioning and Priorities of The League of Arab States (LAS)” on 3-4 February 2020 at LAS Headquarters, which comes within the framework of cooperation between LAS and the European Union (EU) as a part of El Hiwar II program inaugurated in 2018.
This training was offered to European officials (Delegates from EU Member States in Cairo, the EU delegation in Cairo, in addition to College of Europe in Brussels) interested in deepening their knowledge on the functioning and specific priorities of LAS, in areas such as security, political affairs, economy, sustainable development and social affairs.
This training program was built on the success achieved with phase I (which lasted 4 years) on strengthening Euro-Arab relations by increasing the mutual knowledge about the institutional dynamics and priorities of both organizations and by identifying themes for deeper and wider cooperation.
