The Arab Troika, led by Saudi Arabia in New York, held intensive meetings with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterich and the permanent members of the Security Council – the United States of America, the People’s Republic of China, the Russian Federation, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and the Republic of France , In addition to the meeting of the Federal Republic of Germany, and another meeting held by the troika with the Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs and Peace-building Rosemary de Carlo.
These meetings come in light of the political challenges and the security threats facing the Arab countries, the embodiment of the spirit of cooperation and solidarity enshrined in the Charter of the League of Arab States, and the implementation of the resolutions of the League of Arab States which provide for the maintenance of Arab security and the ways to deal with serious threats in the Middle East region. For the maintenance of peace and security and the promotion of peace in accordance with the Charter of the United Nations and international resolutions.
The aim of these efforts is to strengthen cooperation and coordination between the Arab states and the United Nations, members of the Security Council and influential members of the United Nations, in order to serve Arab causes and enhance security and stability in the region.
The meetings of the Arab troika on behalf of the States members of the League of Arab States included the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Kingdom of Morocco, the United Arab Emirates and the Republic of Yemen, as well as the observer delegation of the League of Arab States to the United Nations.
