Saudi Arabia joins to 2 international treaties on maritime transport

The Saudi Minister of Transport and Chairman of the General Authority for Transport, Dr. Nabil Al-Amoudi, handed over the documents of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to two international treaties on the maritime transport aspect of the Secretary-General of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) Kitak Lim in his office in London yesterday evening in the presence of the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques in London, Bandar bin Sultan, Chairman of the General Authority for Transport, Dr. Rumih bin Mohammed Al Rumaih, and the Saudi delegation accompanying.
His Majesty the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques in London explained that the Kingdom, as an active member of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) since 1969, is keen to deepen its relationship with the Organization, based on the Kingdom’s positive role in the international scene and its commitment and full support for everything that will ensure efficiency and safety. Shipping activities, since shipping is the most vital artery in world trade.
For his part, Dr. Al Amoudi said that the Kingdom is committed to the international conventions and treaties adopted by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and that the Kingdom’s accession to the Nairobi International Convention for the Removal of Shipwrecks for 2007 and the International Load Line Agreement of 1966 are an extension of the great interest and support of the Government of the Kingdom of Bahrain The Kingdom’s keenness on a successful partnership with the international community through its commitment to these conventions and achieving the highest technical requirements to improve the industry and achieve its sustainability.
