“Saudi Program for Developing & Reconstructing Yemen” participates in Humanitarian Operations Workshop and Stability Phase

The Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen participated in the workshop of humanitarian operations concurrent with the conduct of military operations and the stage of stability in Yemen organized by the Field Operations Command of the Ministry of Defense for 4 days. Turki bin Abdulaziz, the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques in Yemen, the General Supervisor of the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen, Ambassador Mohammed bin Saeed Al Jaber, and a number of leaders and officers of the coalition forces in support of legitimacy in Yemen, Humanitarian and relief operating there.
Prince Fahd bin Turki bin Abdulaziz stressed that the military operations led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its allies are to protect the Yemeni people in the first place and that any action that contributes to raising the standard of living of our brothers in Yemen and contributes to achieving development and stability for them is a positive action, And is more important in military action, stressing that the protection of Yemenis is the basis of military operations.
For his part, the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques in Yemen and the General Supervisor of the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen Ambassador Mohammed bin Saeed Al Jaber said in a speech during the opening that the workshop comes at a time when the program started working with the Yemeni government in linking relief to development Reconstruction and peace-building, which included several vital sectors in the various Yemeni governorates, in accordance with a strategy and a vision that is concerned with the Yemeni people first and the needs of its services, in order to reduce the rate of unemployment among Yemenis and move the economy and stability of the Yemeni currency by providing a deposit of $ 3.2 billion Pointing to the role of the program in supplying the power plants in Yemen with fuel in the amount of 180 million US dollars in batches, contributed to the lighting of houses and shops of Yemenis, thus achieving the regular electricity availability of more than 18 million beneficiaries, Reviving economic and social life, and helping the Yemeni government pay salaries and wages.
Al Jaber added that the development track anywhere in the world can not be achieved without security and stability. Therefore, the program implemented its projects immediately in the liberated areas, which constitute 85% of Yemeni land, stressing that the program accelerates the implementation of development projects according to priorities, In all governorates.
Al Jaber pointed out that the program works with international partners and UN organizations on the need to integrate stability and peace-building programs in Yemen to integrate relief, development and reconstruction. The program also carried out projects for border guards and national security to support security sector reform programs and rehabilitation of police and local authorities, On urgent projects with sustainable solutions to achieve food security through supporting agriculture, fisheries and livestock, which depend on the livelihood of more than 70% of the Yemeni people.
Al Jaber tackled the path of reconstruction and infrastructure projects. The program implements its projects in seven development sectors (health, education, transport, water, electricity, security, agriculture and fisheries) in coordination with local Yemeni authorities. These projects are implemented in cooperation with local Yemeni companies to support the Yemeni economy and providing job opportunities for them. As for the development track, the program works with partners in Yemen such as SMEPS of the Social Fund for Development in Yemen and international partners such as the World Bank and the Islamic Development Bank such as the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the World Food Program (WFP) to design development programs and initiatives to support community and economic development.
