The Omani press hailed the resolutions of the Arab-European (LAS-EU) Summit which concluded its work in the city of Sharm el-Sheikh and the future prospects laid down in the recommendations of the summit.
In this context, the Omani newspaper highlighted the resolutions and recommendations of the summit by stressing the importance of enhancing cooperation to establish security, settle disputes, social and economic development in the region, promote economic cooperation between the two sides and establish a strong partnership based on investment and sustainable development. Especially in the fields of trade and energy, including energy security, science, research, technology, tourism, fisheries, agriculture and other areas of common interest.
The summit stressed the importance of reaching political settlements for regional crises in accordance with international law, including international humanitarian law. The summit renewed the common positions of the Middle East peace process, the status of Jerusalem and the illegality of Israeli settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories in accordance with international law and commitment. To reach a two-state solution, including East Jerusalem, and to reach a just, lasting and comprehensive peace between Israelis and Palestinians through direct negotiations between the parties on all final status issues. With the importance of preserving the historical situation in the Holy Places in Jerusalem, including the issue of Hashemite trusteeship, and emphasizing the indispensable role of UNRWA and the need to support them politically and financially.
For its part, the newspaper “Oman”praised the resolutions and recommendations issued by the Arab summit, the first Arab-European, which concluded its work in Sharm el-Sheikh yesterday, where the editorial of the newspaper on Tuesday entitled “political settlement of crises.”
