The Ministry of Information in the Sultanate of Oman organizes the activities of the Third Media Forum (Media-Renewal) on January 30th in cooperation with the General Authority for Radio and Television and Sultan Qaboos University.
In the morning, a seminar was held entitled “Media for the Future”, but during the evening, under the auspices of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos Advisor
for Economic Planning Mohamed Alzobare will award Al media professionals.
* Media Dialogue Council!
In parallel, the Ministry of Information organized a meeting in the Cultural Club headquarters entitled “Media Dialogue Council”. It was held under the patronage of the Minister of Information, Dr. Abdul Moneim bin Mansour Al Hassani. He stressed that the Media Dialogue Council is an extension of the Omani Councils, which includes members of the society and meets with stakeholders so, it discusses many ideas.
He explained that the idea of his residence came in response to a proposal from many media that there are ongoing meetings for discussion and dialogue, adding that councils embrace many issues and discuss much of what is happening in our minds and our communities.
Dr. Abdul Moneim bin Mansour Al Hassani noted that the Media Dialogue Council will include the various governorates of the Sultanate during the coming period and a number of dialogues and community issues will be put forward.
The meeting was attended by Ali bin Khalfan Al-Jabri, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Information and a large group of editors of newspapers, media institutions, journalists and media professionals.

For their part, media appreciated this pioneering initiative because it aims to listen closely to views, proposals and visions, and to explore future horizons, with the involvement of specialists to contribute their views in the fields that concern them, as well as to investigate the most important issues and subjects that concern public opinion.
The program included an extensive session entitled “Community Awareness” and two working papers were reviewed.
1- The first entitled: “The Community Awareness Industry” prepared by Dr. Obaid bin Said Al-Shuksi, Secretary General of the National Committee for Human Rights.
2- When an important question arises, the title of the second working paper is: “How to make children honest with their parents.”
The meeting was attended by the Ministry of Information, the General Authority for Radio and Television, a group of local and private press and media institutions, the Committee on Information, Culture and Tourism of the State Council, the Shura Council Information and Culture Committee, the Omani Society for Writers, A number of academics, intellectuals and those interested in cultural and information aspects, representatives of the Government Services Communication Center and the National Youth Committee.
