TheEgyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Monday, condemned the incident at a train station in Manchester, UK, injuring 3 people.
Egypt expressed its sincere wishes for quick recovery of the wounded, stressing the government and people’s stand with the government and the people of the United Kingdom in the face of all forms of violence, extremism and terrorism.
The statement also reiterated Egypt’s call for the international community to intensify its efforts to take serious steps towards drying up the sources of terrorist financing and to stop providing training and safe haven for its elements.
According to Fnantial Times, Police are treating the stabbing of three people at a Manchester train station on New Year’s Eve as a terrorist investigation.
A 25-year-old man was being held in custody on suspicion of attempted murder after what Greater Manchester Police described as a “frenzied attack” in which two knives were used.
Counter-terrorism police are now leading inquiries into the attack that occurred just before 9pm at Manchester Victoria station.
