The foreign minister Sameh Shukri participated in the consultative meeting of the African and Arab countries of the Red Sea in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, to discuss the activation of joint cooperation between riparian countries of the Red Sea in all fields.
The meeting was part of a series of meetings aimed at discussing cooperation and enhancing joint coordination between the African and Arab countries bordering the Red Sea as an important water artery in the field of international trade and transport. Saudi Arabia hosted the first meeting of the Arab and African countries of the Red Sea on 11-12 December 2017, and Cairo will host the next meeting of these countries soon to complete the discussions.
During the meeting, the foreign minister stressed the importance of enhancing cooperation and economic integration between riparian countries in the Red Sea in all political, economic and cultural fields, noting that there are many opportunities for cooperation among the countries of the region.
