In the context of the communication plan of the Egyptian Embassy in Canada with the Canadian political, economic and cultural influence circles for strengthening the Egyptian-Canadian relations at various levels, and introducing the great developments that Egypt is witnessing to contribute to supporting Egypt’s image abroad, The Ambassador of Egypt in Canada Mr Ahmed Abu Zeid met Tuesday (November 27th) MP Michael Levitt, Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Relations and International Development in the House of Commons of Canada.

In a statement to the Egyptian ambassador after the meeting, he praised the positive and encouraging spirit of the Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Relations in the House of Commons during the meeting and his interest in opening channels of communication and dialogue with the Egyptian parliament to support the Egyptian-Canadian relations in all its aspects. Abu Zeid stressed the important and pivotal role played by the members of the House of Representatives in building bridges of communication and dialogue with the parliaments of many friendly countries in the framework of active and systematic parliamentary diplomacy aimed at strengthening Egypt’s relations with its international partners.

Abu Zeid proposed to Michael Levitt establishment of an Egyptian / Canadian friendship friendship group which will serve as an additional fulcrum for promoting and strengthening relations between the two countries. Egyptian students, which make upgrading the level of cooperation and coordination between the two countries a common are a goal to achieve the interests of both countries.

The meeting witnessed an in-depth dialogue on a number of regional and international issues of interest to the two countries, particularly the situation in the Middle East, efforts to combat terrorism and ways to support peace and stability at the international level.
At the end of the meeting, ambassador Abu Zeid invited the Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee to visit Egypt.
