El-Bana: Mega projects aim to develop 93% of Egypt area
SIS – Egyptian Agriculture Minister Abdel Monem el Bana said on Wednesday 14/2/2017 the under-construction mega projects launched by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi aim at developing 93 percent of Egypt’s area and creating more jobs to young people.
During the 41st session of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) board of governors , currently in session in Rome, the Egyptian minister said Egypt has taken many reassures to achieve comprehensive agricultural development and to iron out hurdles to developing most needy rural areas.
A clear-cut strategy was laid down to develop rural areas based on luring investments, setting up small projects, creating jobs and paying more attention to traditional and hand-made industries, he added.
He referred to the projects carried out by the government to improve life of residents of rural areas, including boosting electricity, potable water, drainage, and road networks and increasing agricultural production by adopting new agricultural techniques and improving plant and animal breeds.
He said Egypt will continue its efforts to lure more investments to rural areas and back small farmers to achieve sustainable agricultural development.
