“Aldiplomasy” Follows Presidential Activity January 2018
At the internal level, President Sisi met with government officials in order to ease the burden on the Egyptian citizen. The President also inaugurated number of development projects.
At the external level, President Sisi received many of foreign officials and also participated in the 30th AU Summit in Addis Ababa.
President’s meetings with officials
January 4: President Sisi gave directives to the Housing and Defense Ministries to finalize the Sinai development plan as soon as possible in preparation for implementing all the agricultural and industrial activities in the peninsula. The plan also includes establishing new housing communities and finalizing the implementation of the villages being constructed now besides the projects of roads and basic facilities which will serve all these ventures and contribute to upgrading the livelihood of the Sinai residents. This came during the meeting with Acting Premier and Housing Minister Moustafa Madboli.
January 4: President Sisi has called for pursuing efforts aimed at developing the health sector in Egypt and applying the new health insurance systems to offer the best medical service for citizens. The President’s statements came during a meeting with Acting Prime Minister and Housing Minister Mostafa Madbouli, Health Minister Ahmed Emad Eddin Radi, Head of the Administrative Control Authority (ACA) Mohamed Erfan and Director of the Armed Forces Medical Services corps Mostafa Abu Hatab.
January 10: President Sisi urged continuing efforts to solve structural problems facing the Egyptian economy for decades. During a meeting with Acting Premier and Housing Minister Mostafa Madboly and Finance Minister Amr el Garhy, Sisi said the Egyptian citizen should feel the positive outcome of economic decisions taken during the past period.
January 14: President Sisi stressed the significance of continuing the efforts to develop the communications and information technology sector. This came during his meeting with Communications Minister Yasser el Qadi and head of the Administrative Control Authority Mohamed Erfan.
January 30: President Sisi held a meeting with the Prime Minister Sherif Ismail and a number of ministers and senior officials. During the meeting, the results of President’s participation in African Union Summit were presented, held in Addis Ababa on January 28-29, 2018.

Sisi inaugurates several development projects in 10th of Ramadan city (January 8, 2018)
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi inaugurated several giant development projects in the roads, bridges and housing sectors. The President opens the new projects via video conference from a hall in the 10th of Ramadan city in Sharqiya governorate.
The Projects include:
1- South Fangary Bridge Corridor with the aim to ease congestion between east and west Cairo.
2- A drinking water plant in New Cairo has also been implemented at two billion pounds with a total capacity of 500,000 cubic meters.
3- “Dar Misr” housing project consists of 960 residential units has also been implemented.
4- Shubra-Banha road at a length of 40 kilometers with a total cost of EGP 3.6 billion.
5- Cairo-Ain Sokhna road developing project
6- Social housing project in 10th of Ramadan city which cost some 165 million pounds
President Sisi termed as “a tough challenge” finalizing the mega projects of housing, bridges, power and water stations over the past four years.
Sisi opens main phase of renovating Maadi Armed Forces Medical Complex (January 12, 2018)
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi inaugurated the main phase of renovating the Armed Forces Medical Complex in Maadi.
The President inspected a number of hospitals and specialized medical centers at the Maadi medical complex.
While inspecting the hospitals, President Sisi stressed the importance of improving the medical and health care offered to all citizens.
The renovation activities of the complex includes establishing a number of hospitals and specialized medical centers that provide medical services to both Armed Forces members and civilians.
Sisi inaugurates several development projects in Nile Delta (January 15, 2018)
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi arrived in Sadat City, Menoufiya Governorate, to open via video conference a number of development projects in north Egypt and the Nile Delta.
During the visit, the President listened to a presentation by the ministers of trade and industry, health, and higher education and scientific research on the achievements and projects that have been implemented during the last period.
Sisi in Beni Suef to open development projects (January 21, 2018)
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi arrived in Beni Suef to inaugurate a number of development projects, in the presence of Acting Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly and a number of ministers and senior officials.
During the visit, President Sisi has stressed the need to establish huge logistics zones, believing this is important to upgrade Egypt’s trade potentials.
President Sisi said that 3,000 small factories would be built in Upper Egypt by the end of 2018.
The President asserted that “Long Live Egypt” Fund is ready to support the “Decent Housing” project that could be finalized by the end of this year.
The President also gave his directives to officials to increase the price of sugar cane upon the request of the farmers and inaugurated a plant for water treatment in Sohag’s Dar el Salam district, project of doubling Qena-Sohag western desert road, Armant Central Hospital in Luxor governorate, the second phase of Luxor Public Hospital and the project of developing Bahariya Oases highway in Farafra via video conference.
Sisi witnesses inauguration ceremony of Zohr gas field production (January 31, 2018)
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi witnessed the inauguration ceremony of the early production process of Zohr gas field at western Port Said.
Eni Chief Executive Officer Claudio Descalzi said Zohr gas field project is an evident proof of the company’s interest in investing in Egypt where it has been operating since 1954.
Sisi bestows sport medal on athletes winning trophies in championships (January 1, 2018)
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi honored the athletes who won medals and prizes in world sport championships as well as their coaches by bestowing the sport order on them.
During the meeting, the president hailed the athletes’ accomplishments that contribute to honoring Egypt’s name in the international arena, wishing for more sports achievements to make Egypt reach the position it deserves at the regional and international levels.
Sisi participated in “Story of Homeland” conference (January 17-19, 2018)
“Story of Homeland” conference is held at Al Masa Hotel in Cairo, in the presence of a large number of representatives of the Egyptian society, as well as experts and specialists in various fields.
The conference includes a number of round tables and public meetings to shed light on the achievements of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi during his first term as president of Egypt and the challenges met by the State.
